Competition Rules
Official terms and guidelines governing NUST Olympiad'26.
Purpose
Olympiad NUST is organized to provide a positive, safe and inclusive environment for all participants, guests and staff. All individuals attending or taking part in Olympiad’26 are expected to uphold the highest standards of behavior, sportsmanship and respect.
Expectations & Regulations
Participants must adhere to the following:
- Treat all other participants, guests, organizers, volunteers and staff with dignity, respect and courtesy.
- Recognize participation in Olympiad’26 as a privilege which may be revoked for the greater good of the event.
- Use appropriate language, tone and volume when communicating. Abusive language, name-calling, shouting, or aggressive behavior are prohibited.
- Familiarize yourself with and comply with all established rules, policies and procedures relevant to your event, venue and the wider Olympiad.
- Aggressive behavior, physical or verbal intimidation or abuse, harassment or threatening gestures are strictly prohibited.
- Theft, vandalism, or any behavior that results in damage to property is prohibited.
- The possession, use, or concealment of weapons, devices or objects intended for harm is forbidden.
- The possession or use of cigarettes or vapes within competition venues or event facilities is strictly prohibited.
- Inappropriate, threatening or offensive behavior, whether in person or via digital communications is strictly prohibited
- Referees are neutral and impartial; decisions are not challengeable. Appeals may be entertained on reasonable grounds; however, their acceptance or reversal is not guaranteed.
- The sports committee reserves the right to award walk-overs if a team arrives late. Such decisions shall be final and not subject to challenge, and no refunds or compensations shall be provided in any instance where a walk-over is awarded.
- The specific module head for the relevant modules will have final say in any decisions related to the participants, any delays, walkovers, disqualifications will be governed by the module head. And no refunds or compensations shall be provided in any instance where a walk-over is awarded.
- Take care of belongings, although NUST has a lost and found system, we do not take responsibility for anything lost by the participant.
- All participants are required to abide by NUST’s official rules and regulations, including all hostel-related policies, curfew timings, and any additional campus guidelines applicable throughout their stay.
Reporting and Responsibility
If any participant or guest feels unsafe, threatened or uncomfortable with the conduct of another person, they are urged to report the matter without hesitation to an official or organizer. Organizing committee are available to assist, escort or intervene as needed to maintain a safe environment.
Procedures for Misconduct
Upon the occurrence of misconduct, organizers reserve the right to take immediate action including:
- Issuing a verbal or written warning.
- Suspending the participant from one or more events or results.
- Removing the participant from a venue or the entirety of Olympiad’26.
- Contacting law enforcement if refusal to comply or further danger arises.
Acknowledgement by Participant
By participating in Olympiad’26, you acknowledge that:
- You have read and understood this Code of Conduct.
- You agree to abide by these rules throughout the duration of the Olympiad.
- You accept that breaches may lead to disciplinary action without refund, reinstatement or further participation.
